about me
For many years I designed only custom-build web sites, moving on to templated and then responsive designs. I discovered, however, that our clients increasingly wanted sites they could modify, edit, add to. In the early days of WordPress, there were still a lot of things you couldn’t do without hard-coding content, but the application has improved immensely. Now I recommend WordPress to clients for its ease of use (compared to much more complex platforms such as Joomla and Drupal) and countless free plug-ins which enable events, blogs, shops, membership etc. However, I continue to design custom web sites to your specification: as with WordPress, these will be responsive (automatically adapting to the size of device) and exploit the full capabilities of the latest web design tools.
For my web design of the site for Jazz Services and the huge Access database that underpinned it, I won the All-Party Parliamentary Jazz Committee Award for Best Web Site at a ceremony at the House of Commons.
